Prolongation de délai
An adjustment to the contractual completion date granted to the contractor when a qualifying delay event occurs that is not the contractor's fault. Common entitling events under FIDIC include: employer-caused delays (late access, drawing approvals), variation instructions, unforeseeable physical conditions, force majeure, and changes in law. The contractor must comply with strict notice requirements (28 days under FIDIC 2017) and submit detailed particulars including a time-impact analysis demonstrating the causal link between the event and the delay to completion. Failure to obtain an EOT while being delayed exposes the contractor to liquidated damages — making timely claims management critical.
