Licence commerciale
A government-issued permit required to conduct business in the UAE and other GCC states. Commercial licences specify the authorised business activities, trade name, and legal form of the enterprise. In the UAE, licences are issued by the Department of Economic Development (DED) in each emirate for mainland companies, or by the relevant free zone authority for free zone entities. The licence must be renewed annually and is a prerequisite for opening bank accounts, sponsoring visas, and signing lease agreements.
