Our story
Four Decades at the Crossroads of Commerce
At a time when cross-border commerce between Europe and the Gulf was accelerating at an unprecedented pace, our founding partners — award-winning lawyers from major global law firms and financial institutions — recognised a gap no existing firm had filled: the need for a genuinely integrated practice that could navigate French civil law, English common law, and the commercial legal frameworks of the Middle East with equal authority.
They established GSDA at 10 Place Vendôme in Paris — one of the world's most iconic business addresses — and built outward: first across France to Grenoble and Marseille, then to Dubai, Riyadh, Doha, Manama, Kuwait City, Muscat, and Cairo. Each office was not a flag on a map, but a genuine presence with local lawyers, local knowledge, and deep relationships within that jurisdiction's business and regulatory community.
Today, GSDA advises multinational corporations, sovereign entities, high-net-worth individuals, and ambitious entrepreneurs on the full spectrum of construction, energy, corporate, real estate, and employment law. Where other firms send their associates to Dubai on secondment, our lawyers in the Gulf live there, understand the market's rhythms, and maintain the relationships that enable us to deliver advice that is not just legally correct, but commercially actionable.
We did not build this firm to be the largest. We built it to be the firm that a CEO calls at midnight when a billion-dirham construction project stalls, when a joint venture partner in Riyadh changes terms forty-eight hours before signing, or when a Paris tribunal demands submissions that require understanding both French procedure and Gulf commercial practice.

What sets us apart
Not Just Another International Law Firm.
Large firms claim global reach. Boutique firms claim personal service. We deliver both — because our model was designed from day one to do exactly that.
The East–West Legal Bridge
Most firms either know Europe or the Middle East. We were built to connect both. Our lawyers hold rights of audience in France, England, and across the Gulf — navigating civil law, common law, and Sharia-influenced commercial frameworks as a single integrated team. When a Parisian developer enters the Dubai market or a Saudi conglomerate acquires a French industrial group, we are the firm that understands both sides of the table.
Sector-Focused Specialists
We do not try to be everything to everyone. Our deepest expertise lies in the sectors that shape the built environment and the energy transition: construction, infrastructure, oil & gas, and renewable energy. We advise on FIDIC contracts, EPC disputes, joint venture structuring, and regulatory compliance in some of the world's most ambitious megaproject markets — from the Grand Paris Express to NEOM, from Lusail City to the UAE's nuclear energy programme.
Trilingual, Tri-Jurisdictional
Every member of our team operates fluently in English, French, and Arabic. This is not a marketing claim — it is a daily operational reality. We draft contracts in French for Paris tribunals, argue arbitrations in English at the DIAC, and negotiate in Arabic with Gulf sovereign entities. Our clients never need a second firm to translate context, culture, or legal nuance.
Boutique Rigour, Global Reach
At GSDA, your matter is handled by senior lawyers who know your file — not by a rotating cast of associates across floors. With 10 offices spanning Paris, Grenoble, Marseille, Dubai, Riyadh, Doha, Manama, Kuwait City, Muscat, and Cairo, we deliver the geographic reach of a global firm with the responsiveness and personal attention of a boutique practice.
Our vision
Connecting East to West.
To be the premier law firm for businesses operating at the intersection of European and Middle Eastern markets. We are committed to delivering exceptional client service, legal innovation, and thought leadership in the sectors that matter most: construction, energy, infrastructure, and cross-border commerce.
Our vision is to build lasting bridges — not just between legal traditions, but between business cultures, regulatory frameworks, and the ambitions of clients who see opportunity where others see complexity.
Our mission
Commercially-Driven Counsel.
To provide a seamless, integrated legal service that covers every aspect of our clients' needs — from contract inception to dispute resolution, from regulatory approval to board-level strategy. We combine deep local knowledge with a genuinely global outlook, delivering advice that is practical, commercially focused, and culturally informed.
We measure our success not by billable hours, but by the deals we close, the disputes we resolve, and the confidence our clients carry into their next venture.
Our global platform
10 Offices, 8 Jurisdictions, One Integrated Team
From our headquarters at 10 Place Vendôme in Paris to our offices across the Gulf and North Africa, every location operates as part of a single, coordinated practice — not as an isolated outpost.

Our principles
The Values That Guide Us.
Excellence Without Compromise
We hold ourselves to the standard of major global law firms — because that is where our founding team trained. Every opinion, every contract, every submission reflects meticulous research, precise drafting, and commercially astute judgment.
Integrity as Foundation
We are transparent about risk, forthright about cost, and unflinching in our duty to act in our clients' best interests — whether that means advising restraint on a deal or taking a position that challenges convention.
Client-Centric Partnership
We integrate with our clients' commercial teams, not just their legal departments. A construction delay claim is not merely a legal question — it is a cash-flow crisis, a board-level risk, and a relationship to preserve.
Entrepreneurial Agility
We move at the pace of our clients' deals. When a construction company needs an emergency injunction in Dubai at 2 AM Paris time, we answer. Speed and flexibility are how we operate.

A word from the founder
To the Leaders Who Build.
In four decades of cross-border practice, I have seen businesses lose not because they lacked ambition, but because they lacked legal counsel who truly understood both sides of the table.
When a European developer enters the Gulf, they encounter regulatory frameworks, cultural expectations, and commercial customs that no amount of desktop research can prepare them for. When a Middle Eastern conglomerate acquires in Paris, they face civil-law protections, labour regulations, and jurisdictional nuances that demand local mastery with regional perspective.
That is why I built GSDA — not as another international law firm, but as a genuine bridge. Every lawyer in our team operates across legal traditions, languages, and jurisdictions as a matter of daily practice. We do not hand your file from one office to another. We work as one integrated team because that is what your business demands.
To the CEOs, founders, and decision-makers reading this: your legal partner should understand your boardroom as well as the courtroom. They should move at the speed of your transactions, not the pace of institutional bureaucracy. And they should tell you the truth — even when the truth is that the deal should not proceed.
If that is the kind of counsel you seek, I invite you to speak with us.
